Real Estate Finance, Statistics & Valuation Modeling

NRPAB approval #: 1181401.04             15 hours qualifying education

This course is approved by the Nebraska Real Property Appraiser Board (NRPAB) for qualifying education and continuing education.       

The Appraisal Institute is the primary provider for this course.  The Appraisal Institute has been granted course approval through the AQB Course Approval Program. The Moore Group, Inc. has a license and distribution agreement with the Appraisal Institute for this course.

Course Description:  This two-day course covers statistics and real estate finance.  The first day provides and introduction to statistics and statistical modeling.  It is intended to provide a foundation of statistical concepts and an exposure to regression analysis, which is a widely used statistical valuation model in both appraisal practice and in related real estate research.  You will learn about the basic tools of statistical analysis and leave with a solid foundation for statistics.  The second day provides an introduction to real estate finance.  It is intended to provide insights into real estate finance markets, the numbers and how they are determined, and the linkages between credit conditions, property values, and appraisal practice.  A one-hour exam concludes the course.  More detailed course information can be obtained from the School Catalog which can be accessed from the HOME page of this website.

  • Required materials:  Financial calculator.  (An HP 12c calculator  is recommended, but is not required.)
  • 100% attendance is required.

NRPAB approval #: 11841402.04.  This course is approved by the Nebraska Real Property Appraiser Board for 15 hours of qualifying education.  This course can also be used to fulfill continuing education requirements.

The approval by the Nebraska Real Property Appraiser Board is honored by the Nebraska Real Estate Commission for continuing education for sales persons and brokers and by the Nebraska Department of Property Assessment and Taxation for continuing education for Assessor re-certification.

Appraisers in other states may be eligible to receive qualifying or continuing education credit and they should check with their state appraiser board.
