Better Safe than Sorry

“Better Safe than Sorry” is a practical guide on how to avoid liability and common errors that require revisions in appraisals.  In recent years, the appraisal industry has come under scrutiny.  The financial crisis of 2008 and the housing-bubble-burst lead to industry changes and reforms, including the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC), the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD).  How did these changes affect appraisers, reviewers, and the industry as a whole?  Were they welcome?  Were they effective?  “Better Sale than Sorry” will explore those questions as well as delve into the role of the reviewer, the obligations of the appraiser, relevant USPAP regulations, common errors appraisers can avoid, and the importance of structured report writing.

for Continuing Ed. for sales persons and brokers.  The NRPAB approval of this course is 
honored by the Nebr. Dept of Revenue for Continuing Ed. for Assessor re-certification.
The Iowa Real Estate Appraiser Examining Board (IREAEB) will accept any continuing 
education programs approved by the IREAEB, the AQB or another state appraiser board 
(provided documentation is attached).
Other States: Appraisers wanting CE credit in any state(s) other than Nebraska or Iowa, 
need to check with the state appraiser board(s) in question and inquire if they will honor
the approval of the AQB or the Nebraska Real Property Appraiser (NRPAB) for the Classroom 
CE courses.

Appraisers in other states may be eligible to receive continuing education credit and they should check with their state appraiser board.
